I did an unexpected 20 miles today. I meant to do 30-40, but I got a flat tire 10 miles in. I pulled over and everything was routine until I broke my last tires lever. Luckily, Lakewood/Rocky River is Team Spin turf, and we were out in force today. got the tire fixxed, and knowing that this was the beginning of a bad day, I took off home.
On Hogsback Lane, one of the hills I hate, there was some erosion, so now there is a 100ft long gap in the road that is about 5 inches higher than everything else. I got to that and said "F*** this" and turned around. A few miles later, I routinely scrubbed my rear tire with my glove, and my hand got caught in between it and the seat tube, locking up the rear tire and the bike with only my right hand on the bars. Luckily, I kept it up, and rode home in the wind the rest of the way in a monster 53x14 gear.
I also sprinted a few hills in the same gear.

All in all, it was a good ride, I was tired by the time I got home.
