IRD makes a good steel curved fork. Spec'd on Soma Double-Cross. I bet that's very comparable in weight. They make a straight blade, too, but I don't know how that compares. For myself, I'll take well-built steel over over budget carbon. Especially if the weight penalty is so slight.

Word. I had a cheap, POS carbon fork snap on me once sending me over the bars... Not Fun!!! The only carbon I run now is my Alpha-Q.
