Can't help you on tyres as I run 23's- but a lot of comfort can come about with the build of the bike. I have an ultra stiff Aluminium frame that rides a dream with 23's at 140 psi. A lot of that comfort comes from the CF Seatpost and Forks- and the wheels that have a cross spoking pattern.
