You don't have to mount the sensor on the inside of the fork. The sensor and magnet don't care, neither does the computer. The sensor can sit on the leading or trailing edge of the fork, as long as the correct sensor to magnet distance is maintained. I've done this hundreds of times, but you don't want to hear anything from a shop mechanic in this forum.
