I'm not retired, nor will I ever be, probably.

No Children. (I would still be car-free even if I did have them, though... I've seen it, and know it's possible.)

Totally urban. I can see the Space Needle from where I live. I think, for this environment, car-free is the best choice, but I would seriously consider a car if I lived back on the farm in KY. Riding 20 miles on high-speed, narrow two lane roads in an area where no one's ever seen a bike, and the average IQ is rather low, is asking for it, IMO.
