Dave,

Saddles are a religious topic of course. I am larger than you and I currently ride a Selle Italia Turbo Special (old school) and a Selle Italia Flite Gel Flow (new school). I have ridden the Turbo for years and have a NOS spare I bought on EBay.

I bought the Flite primarily out of vanity - I wanted bright red to match the black on my fixie. Red Turbos are rare so I went with the Flite. I was skeptical about a trimmed down saddle with a cutout, but I have found the saddle to be quite comfortable. I am even thinking about replacing the Turbo with a white Flite for my road bike.

As for Brooks, I have never gone down that road because I have always been comfortable on plastic leather style saddles going all the way back to my Schwinn Super LeTour 12.2 in 1978.
