Down here in Pensacola, FL cyclists aren't very common at all. I rarely see any others on my 6mi. commute to school. But they have finally finished widening and repaving one of the major roads. Riding through the progressing construction, I didn't have much hope at all to see a bike lane on this road once completed. But I was pleasantly mistaken. They have finished the road work and painting. The lines for the bike lane are wide and bright. I also found this in place of the typical painted image of a stick figure on a bike:
I assume that this will be replaced by the stick figure rider, but I kinda like the "Bicycle Man" painted there. I feel like the "bicycle MAN" when I ride my route now. Kinda cool. I guess seeing little things like this in my commute tickle me a little.
