You can buy pump hoses in the 5-10 cent type stores. They sell them for "inexpensive" kid's pumps, they're about 6" long. Most bike pumps will bite on to the threads at one end of the hose and then get one of those "gas station air supply" adaptors so you can use it with your presta valves. It does work, I used to use this set up years ago after I snapped off the valve stem once. Then along came the Morph series of pumps ...

you can also use CO2 and forget about pumps and hoses.
