Are the ones that came on the bike (Alex Solo wheels) better than the Velocities or the Weinmanns?

I don't know the Alex solo wheels, but any $200 wheel set probably won't be much of an upgrade in terms of performance. If you like the way the Deep Vs look, go for it, but I wouldn't expect much of a performance boost with them.
If I were you I would run what you've got them until I needed new wheels.
