The Mt. Weather climb (and the shorter Naked Mountain climb) actually seem shorter on the 3rd pass. Obviously they're taking less time now, but now that I know the route, it seems a tad less intimidating.

I still get apprehensive approaching the first steep sections, but now, it is a bit more routine to gear down, spin up and just keep climbing. I'll stand out of the saddle for a few cycles, then spin some more. Since this is the last big weekend before the Mt. Mitchell ride, I may do the loop on Saturday, then again on Monday - to see how I do with 110 miles and 10K of climbing with a days rest. The rest of the time before Mitchell will be a few commutes and a shorter weekend ride, then I head down for the June 9th event.....
