Another entry level vs. thread!!

Hey guys!

I'm sick of messing with my cruddy 06 Diamondback Sorrento, so I figured I'm gonna snag up a new bike this weekend, and I found a few I like, and wanted to get some opinions from you.

Basically there's two sets of bikes in dif price ranges I saw.

First was the 08 Diamondback Response Sport : http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/B...port&Type=bike

vs.

08 Iron Horse Warrior 1.3 which is hard to find specs online for, but it seemed like all low end components, but was a good price.

Now, I am also considering the 500-600 price range, and I found these two.

07 Diamondback Response Comp : http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/B...Comp&Type=bike

vs.

08 Gary Fisher Wahoo Disc : http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/B...2937&Type=bike

Is it worth it to get the 500-600 dollar range bike for weekend trail riding? I'm not that skilled, but I do have fun goin down steep hills and rough ass terrain.

Obviously, the guy at Trek told me the Gary Fisher is way better than the Diamondback, and the guy at Dick's (actual mtb rider/tech) told me for the money the Diamondback is better....

Any thoughts or opinions?

Thanks!!
