In general it is not a good idea to upgrade components unless you have a frame you intend to keep for years and then only when the old components wear out. Upgrading the wheels and tires may have been a good idea because that upgrade probably improved performance and if you were to find a new frame you could transfer the wheel over. Save your money for a new bike, it just makes more sense.
