Once the sun came up over the trees (about 10AM), It just got hot. Every rest stop after that, I was dousing my head with water, and wiping down my arms with whatever cold water I could get. I was OK eating the Shot Bloks, but I tried eating other things, and really didn't feel great about anything that was offered (the watermelon was good, though).

I was cramping up NC-80, (and almost in tears myself). but took a longer rest there, and was able to stagger on. (STAGGER was the operative word). I finished somewhere around 10:30 or so (i really can't remember at this point). I was glad I came down and did it, but I never want to ride in this temperature again. If it's this bad, I'll just stop @ Marion and call it a day.

I'll try to get a pass for Mitchell next year, but if the temps are any where near what they were today, I may just pass on the whole damn ride. I hate the heat.
