In addition to what snafu21 said, here's another tip: Wiggle your handlebars back and forth--it's about trying to correct yourself as you're moving forward instead of keeping the wheel straight and trying to lean yourself back into balance. My wife was riding on her own after just 3 sessions and I feel this was a big factor. Good luck!
