Here is my 1400....just done from a rebuild.
I bought it new in '89....Biopace ultegra
some year later the hills got steeper and a LBS converted it to a triple for me (I wasn't doing much wrenching), but the rx100 derailer/crank and alivio front derailer never felt right.
It is now full 9sp Ultegra triple (mix of new and used), the bb is durace, the saddle is the prototype Brooks Imperial b17 narrow, brake levers are original, durace bar con shifters and wheels rebuilt (new rear, orignial front) with Velocity deep V rims and double butted stainless spokes. Time to ride (inlaws just gave me an old univega for my son...it discovered it is faster than his bmx...so another project between rides)
The paint is original and not perfect and note the discreet neon decals.
