Is there a better spot somewhere around the house to "hide" packages? Like behind some bushes, or around the side were the gas/electricty meter are where the packages won't be easily seen?
Since i live in a corner house where people walking by can easily see the front porch, sometimes what i'll do is leave a easily seen note taped to the front door (or doorbell button) to instruct the UPS guy to leave stuff around the side next to the gas meter. That way everything is out of sight until i get home. I usually only do it if i know nobody else is going to be home and i have expensive stuff coming.
