if you don't want sand on your bike, do NOT take it to the OBX

At least two of your posts include something about not wanting to get sand in your chain.

Therefore, given that much concern, leave your bike at home.

The OBX is nothing but sand and saltwater, both blown around by the wind.

Sand gets everywhere. I mean everywhere. And if the sand doesn't get there, the saltwater will. If it is windy - a very likely possibility - you can taste the salt in the air, and sometimes chew on the sand blown into yor mouth by the wind.
