I don't climb in the drops - I always felt that the lower position restricted my breathing too much. I climb on the hoods, but ride in the drops if I'm bucking a headwind, or if I want a different position to rest my hands or arms.

I figure that the drops are for aerodynamics, and when I'm climbing I'm not going fast enough to worry about being aero. I am interested in breathing capacity, though.
