I have a Schwinn Passage that has the Duopar Eco derailleur. Is there any way to make this derailleur work with indexed shifters? For example, could it be made to work with Shimano indexed bar end shifters? I assume it all boils down to how much cable is pulled by the shifter between indexed points? Is this correct?
There are two issues. One is the cable pull and if it's matched to the brifter. Another is whether the deraileur is sufficiently rigid and free of play to move as precisely as is needed. Frank Berto loved the friction shifting of the Duopar, but did not like it for indexing systmes.
