Here in Chicago they won't even let on the platform unless the bike is folded. The concern with the Swift is that the folded package is so large that they'll just balk at having me on the platform and I'll have to wait until after 6pm to ride the trains. Yeah. Too bad; the Swift sounds good for everything else you needed.
The reinforced Tikit somebody suggested could do what you need, but my unsolicited advice is that you make sure to ride one first.
