My new ride

Bought a new bike yesterday. It is a Specialized Crosstrail. I had also tested a Specialized Sequoia and a Trek 7.3. The Crosstrail was the most comfortable ride out of the three. The Sequoia was the same size as the Crosstrail but the cockpit seemed really cramped for some reason-bothered my knees more than anything. I did love it's handle bars over the flat bar.

Went for a 8 mile round trip ride today. Couple things I noticed: After the first3 miles the thumbs started going numb and the palms just a tad sore. Maybe need different grips or a bar? The bike takes a little oomph to get rolling from a stop but I assume that's due to the big tires. Also noticed that with the left shifter at "2" and the right shifter at "7" that the chain jumps when starting from a dead stop. Maybe needs an adjustment or is it technique?

Over all-a very nice smooth ride! Going for another ride tonight after dinner. The bike is sweet!

Oh, any recommended "must have" accessories?
