Welcome to BF. I started back in January this year ( 66 y/o). Bought a Used 83 Nishiki Sport. Rode it 1500 miles to get the legs in shape. Bought a New Felt F-80 Road Bike. Wow, 19 lbs, Responsive.
Get a new One you Will love the response and the Brifiters, (Shift levers in with the brakes.)
Standing to coast and pedal increased my balance.
