Bamm, please do not one individual discourage you, many of us has had detractors and nay sayers, I would ride with you any if I were in your area.
Hope the Specialized worked out, but let us know if your still on the hunt. Craigs list is great way to get your first bike since you can save a few bucks to put toward accessories and safety equipment.
