The front lockout would be handy for the occasional ride on pavement/fire road/rail trail, so purely as a bonus (most pavement/rail trail time would be on a road bike). I hope to start doing some adventure races over the next year which may have some longer stretches of road/fire road than most of my rides; most rides/races around here I would use the front suspension.
