The TR is an ideal bike for your needs and very well equipped. I love the SRAM dual drive and the gear range it offers and if you get the TR you won't go too far wrong.
I agree the Tikit is a great bike but the 27 speed SRAM dual drive is the one you would need and it is a good deal more expensive than the TR. I'd prefer the Tikit if I was using public transport in between but the TR will prove slightly more versatile for your needs.
