I just learned that the Methodist Resident Bishop for my geographic region is an avid bicyclist. This month's newsletter contains a bicyclists' prayer (http://www.cal-pac.org/circuit/cw020524.pdf) and a picture of the Bishop flanked by two other helmeted, jerseyed cyclists. (The numerous tandem couples out there should note that she and her husband are touring tandemers, as well.)

Read the bottom paragraph of Bishop Swenson's bio at:

http://www.cal-pac.org/journal/Bishop's%20Bio.pdf

It probably doesn't hurt to have friends in high places.
