Took a pre-debate ride today, and decided at some point to take a brief rest. DD was riding just behind me. I slowed down, unclipped on the right, and realized to my horror the bike was beginning to lean to the left. Sure enough, and in slow motion, over I went.
DD immediately said, "Oh, Sweetie!"
Then she said, "You can join Club Tombay!"
Then she said, "Do you want me to get pics?"
Notice, she didn't say, "Are you alright???"
Well, I landed with my iPhone in my jersey pocket (and I had JUST bought a cover yesterday, thank God!) so I handed her the phone. She snapped while I hammed it up. It actually was rather funny.
The only damage to the bike was that the plastic thingie at the end of the drop bar popped out and I popped it back in, and the saddle was askew, so I fixed that. I had no road rash and felt fine. We pedaled home and had a few laughs.
But now, several hours later, my left knee is throbbing and I've put it on ice and taken some ibuprophen.
Anyway -- where do I get the membership paperwork? I want all the benefits of Club Tombay membership!
And has anyone ever thought of putting together a Club Tombay jersey?
