The artical the Aussie Gym coach put out was a great read yes, but its nothing special. Alot of it also pertains to athletes who are very acomplished weight lifters. Not newbies. Theres also alot of small details left out that they wish to keep secret, along with the fact it was writen in 2005.

In all honesty there is nothing in the gym that sprinters do that is specific to cycling. Its all plain old lower body and core strenth / power. The best thing you can do is go to a gym with somone who knows what they're doing or hire a trainer for a bit to help you. If your just getting into it you really need to learn proper technique before you add on the poundage. And just like any form of training you have to develop a base before you start to go up in weight.
