I wear a 12-13 shoe size as well and I use an MKS L size clip. I'm usually in running shoes when riding and they fit perfectly fine (though somewhat snug). I also have relatively wide feet and use the gr-9's as my pedal. You can use grip tape on your pedals if they're to slippery for you (at least that's what I did).
