It really depends on the camera, as I use an SLR (either digital or film), I keep it in a pannier, when I want to take photos, I pull over, take the camera out, and snap a few, then put the camera away again. Planning on adding some kind of bar bag set up, so that I can keep the camera gear a little more accessible in the bar bag, maybe for next year....... I'll either modify the camera bag, or get a bar bag......
