Did my first organized century today. The Cheese and Wine in Riverbank, outside of Modesto. Sorry, no pics as my camera got ripped off recently.
Scenery wise the highlights were Marshes flat Rd. (minus the
nine cattleguards) and the area around Chinese camp. Both in the Sierra foothills. It was great to get out the old routine roads and ride in new areas.
My friend was on a recumbent so I got absolutely no draft advantage from him. But I got to witness how those things can fly downhill and are pretty sleek in a headwind. We yo-yo’ed all day up and down the hills.
Oh.............and the weather was perfect. Sunny with almost no wind
Looks like everyone was getting into out of the ordinary rides this weekend!
