The Joplin is the same as the Maverick Speedball. I had a Speedball, but the piston wouldn't return quickly and fully after a while and the clamps didn't hold the seat rails very tight, ergo I fell onto my wheel a few times.

I now have a Thomson. That said, I'd go with a GD if I could do it over. Adjustable seatposts are the cat's pajamas.
