That's what worries me. The laws of physics are not overcome by your statement, or to put it another way, skills and technique do not overcome momentum as well as a good front brake.

I don't hate fixies, I think they are beautiful. I am concerned about the impressionable young loons who get sucked into the cool dude ideology of brakelessness, and end up in wheelchairs.

If you really believe that your skills and technique are superior, there's a simple test.

Get a rider with a fixie and front brake, find a nice flat stretch, draw a line in the road. Now get the rider to hit this line at 25mph and stop as quickly as possible. Park a car 2 feet past where the rider stopped. Now repeat the experiment with a skilled and technique enabled brakeless rider.

Please post the resulting video here so that we unenlightened believers in the laws of physics may be enlightened by the results of skill and technique
