I think the Cove Stiffee FR has more XC-like geometry (I'm not the most knowledgeable at that), but it has pretty strong components and frame, so if you can afford that, sure.
The Trek Bruiser 1 seems to be less of a 'freeride' bike the more I look at it, in fact the Specialized Hardrock line is probably more FR oriented... Should it stay on the list?
