Skykomish Marble Point STI/Shimano

Hello Everyone!
I was hoping I could get some assistance. I am trying to get a bicycle fork for my Skykomish Marble Point STI/Shimano, but don't know how to go about measuring for one. The story is that I made the bicycle out of spare parts, and currently have a fork that is too long for the bicycle on there as well as a different kind of fork all together(it is a fork for road tires).
So, I was wondering if someone could tell me for certain that this is a mountain bike frame. And secondly, how would I measure for a new fork?

Thanks so much,
Sam
