Once you get into carbon wheels the price generally sky rockets, then add in them being tubular rims, it goes up even more. Most people who don't race have no need for wheels like these, but there are a few who are dumb/rich/spoiled/crazy/stupid/trendfollower enough to get them because they are the latest and greatest.

Want to see something way out of whack, check out campy super record 11 skeleton brake calipers. $450.

$450 for the new dura ace brakes.

Road bike cranks are stupid expensive as well.

Zipp Cranks, $1,250

Don't see any need for something that over the top. Only dura ace part I own is a 15 tooth dura ace track cog. For $1,999.95 you are pretty much looking at the beginning range for high end track racing bikes.

I'll take my Velocity rims any day over carbon.
