I would recommend spending some money and get a decent camera. I recently purchased the Canon A720 - the 4th in a long line of Canon hand held cameras and love it. One nice thing about a Camelbak, I can attached my camera case to the front strap and have my camera handy at all times.
I took this photo at Disneyland - at night without a tripod. Over the head of other guests waiting for fire works.
