half-link, tensioners, etc?

Converting my Fisher 'Genesis' frame to a SS...

I want to keep it cheap and as 'clean' as possible, so I'm thinking about a half-link from Spicer. To those using them, are they pretty reliable? I'm hoping to use a 32x16, without a tensioner.

Its a cheap experiment anyway, so I'll get one and try it, just wondering if anyone has any reviews.

Also saw a DMN tensioner for $12. Being that cheap, I'm sure its not too great, but if it only had to take up a couple of mms of slack... maybe it would work? Anyone use them?

Finally, anyone know of any 'magic' gear combos that'll work with a Fisher genesis geometry?

Thanks
