Consistently with what was stated, I do not think they would be usable in mixed-type conditions. While likely good for thick snow, they might damage the tire when employed on a cleared road.
The tug that was used to pull our aircraft around in and out of the hangar used chains in the winter. The tug would bob around like a drunk from the chains. Not sure this would be healthy or efficient on a bike
