She is hoping to be able to ditch the other med some day. She is starting training for another tri soon, and has been re-motivated to work on more wieght loss. The Healthy Clyde thread from Mr. Beanz made me think of this, but I hate to hijack. Even from Beanz...
1000 Congrats to your wife! My husband has been through similar trials. He was diagnosed with type 2 about 5 years ago. After we learned more (10 hours training with doctors & nutritionists), we found it appalling that his doctor 5 years prior told him he had "pre-diabetes" but did not give any instruction on what to eat, exercise, or how to take care of his condition. Today I'm so proud to say that he's been med-free for about 4 years, managing his type 2 diabetes with diet and exercise. He lost a total of about 60 lbs playing soccer at first, now cycling he keeps it off.

Your wife and my husband prove it can be done!

I'm struggling to follow in his footsteps.
