Maybe if i try to explain it better....
Basically lets say that the shift lever travels 0-100%. And from 0-75% there is absolutely no tension felt other than the spring that keeps it going back to the 0% position. Then from 75%-100% there is a tension. And the shift is made right at 98-100%.
With my other shifter i feel tension start much earlier and the shift happens much earlier. Probably about a 20% difference.

Or maybe i didn't adjust the cable tension enough? Figured I'd check back here again before going to far. Otherwise I will just have my lbs check it out at the first 30 day service (but its more fun fixing it myself).
The small trigger on the shifter does nothing but release a ratchet inside the shifter.There is no adjustment.
