Also have a look at Mercian (http://www.merciancycles.co.uk/frame_king_mercia.asp) The King of Mercia is their top touring frame, and probably the top contender for me until I started doing some work for a well-known custom framebuilder here in Philly. With the current exchange rate, that L515 works out to be $737, not too shabby.

Still, one day I'll own a Mercian...they're beautiful bikes with one hell of a heritage.
