Been there, done that, have the surgical scar to prove it, although I did mine at work.....

You should be in a cast for a week or two, then they take off the cast, check to make sure the surgery hasn't gone septic, take an xray, then after the surgeon checks the X-ray, they rewrap and give it another few weeks. Not much you can do at this stage except enjoy the good drugs the doctors give you (far out man....)

The surgeon will recommend physical therapy after the cast comes off. This is very important, the therapist should be someone who deals with injured athletes, because the ideal is to be able to get back into your exercise program and to be able to return to work as soon as possible.
