geared recumbents often run at encino. it's 250m but not very steep at 28º in the corners. crank strike is not a problem. most of the races are mass start or time trials so there's not much going slow in the corners. recumbent cranks are often pretty high in the air or have three wheels either one makes crank strike a non-issue
