Gear "slips" and odd sounds
I'm new to cycling so please excuse me if I don't really use the correct terms.
I recently bought a Jamis Coda for riding around town and the problem I am having is when I shift from 3 to 2 it seems that it takes a while for the chain to actually catch, almost like it has no gear for a full revolution. Also when I go to a really high gear it sounds like the chain is scraping against the guard.
I have a feeling I probably incorrectly "fixed" a chain that I dropped. Is this what happened? How should I fix it?
