Knee tracking on pedal stroke

I have this tendency to move my knee inward toward the top tube at the peak of my pedal stroke. It's been this way for years but I wonder if this is a natural correction for some fit aberration or odd physiology. I thought nothing of it until I read this velonews article on fit where they mention F. Schleck's pedaling style that needed correction.

I got fitted a couple of years ago but knee tracking wasn't on the agenda. Any thoughts on the matter?
