I am sick of the term "clipless pedals". Ski binding used to be straps and cables that held your foot on the ski. Then they invented mechanisms that latched onto your boots, which they called "step-in bindings". Now they call these devices "bindings". Modern pedals incorporate devices that perform the function of the original toe-clips and straps, so why not call them "clipping pedals". "clipless pedals" are those installed on the department store bikes. The pedals on retro racing bikes are "with toe-clips & straps".
