+1 on lewedge or specialized shims. Adjusting your Q factor with cleat placement does not work to fix tracking issues. Need to shim to correct the angle so you track properly.

Pedaling just feels more efficient when your knees track properly, and I feel like I have more consistent power (no data to back that up)... like the quads are all able to fire properly through the stroke. I had knee pain though, so this helped to alleviate most of it too.
