FWIW - I have no intention of using my powertap for cyclocross. I have accidentally kicked everything located along any of the stays during remounts so many times it's pathetic. If the wiring harness/sensor was there I would ram it into the wheel for sure, or tear the wires up.

I would only race a powertap in cyclocross if:
1. It was wireless
2. It was the newer version that is waterproof - or at least more waterproof than my version.
3. It wasn't mine and I was under no obligation to repair or replace it WHEN it ended up trashed by sand, mud, water, impact, etc....

I can't begin to tell you how many times I hit the deck in cyclocross. Hell I flipped over the front wheel once just riding around pre-race.....but even frozen earth is softer than pavement in a crit.
