I would agree with you on this. I no longer use my strobe when riding at night, I had to many negative comments shouted at me while riding.
But then again I do not use my sos mode either. I just use the L2D on turbo and a P7 single mode. I am not concerned about run-time as I do not ride long enough for either light to go dim before I get back home.
